Train-mendous!
This is a card for my husband's very punny uncle. It took quite a while to do because I decided not to use my Copics and instead use my Prismacolor pencils. So after a bit of stamping, coloring in, fussy and die cutting, and doing that part fussy/part die cut thing for the first time this is what resulted. Oh and just to prove I could I threw on a bit of ribbon on this masculine card! LOL!

Superman - Dad of Steel! Exactly as I have planned it.
Oh how I wish I could say I was the most organized crafter ever and that I completely planned to make a superman card for my husband for Father's Day because I knew it would correspond with going to the movie with the family later that day...
The truth is I lost my mojo and remembered I had the stamp and had an "aha" moment and thinking I could do a gatefold card to make the cape and was at a loss for anything else to do. What? Father's Day was the opening weekend for the movie too? well of course I planned it all!!! *knowing wink*
The second picture shows the card standing. Thinking about it now I could have adhered the blue to come over the top instead of inside of sandwiching the gate. I think I might re-visit this card and try out those changes.
I also stamped the inside but the kids got hold of the card and added their own decorations and sentiments before I could photograph it to share it. Oh well, you will have to take my word that it is cute as it has Superman flying through "Happy Father's Day".
I keep wondering if the stamp is lost, but I keep thinking if it were larger then I would have had issues with the gate fold...

(Dr) Who loves you?
So this is the Valentine's card I sent my eldest at university. Hope he likes it! I'm posting it a couple of days late just in case he didn't get it on time which of course had nothing to do with me mailing it late and making a special trip to the post office to hit the next out cycle in hopes that it might just get there on time. OK?

TARDIS in London
Hello Sweetie!Firstly, my family are Dr Who fans. Secondly I about cried with joy when I found this stamp on VivaLasVegastamps. Love! Love! Love! Did I mention I love this stamp - great size, great subject! When I saw the police box stamp I knew I had to make it fly and that I already had a London background stamp to ground it. From there it was just some assembly required and to be honest this is one of those times when the image in my brain actually turned out on the card itself. SQUEEEE!
However, that said that doesn't mean there aren't things I wouldn't do differently. I versamarked the mat but you can't really tell, not even in real life, so if I do that again I will emboss it too. And maybe add a few more gears/watches to the sky. Debating whether I would versamark or really make them stand out. Hmm.

Happy BEER day!
See! Masculine Birthday cards really aren't that difficult. Just go with what you know they love! I made a version of this card a few years ago so I thought I would revisit it for another guy in my life. That is 50 pints of beer, stamped, colored, and glossy accented and there is one on the inside for a 51 beer salute (we did remind him it wasn't a challenge!). I cut the stamped ropes off the added some cord for depth. I think it worked.

Yar Har Birthday!
Now if I had been clever I would have had this show up on my blog on talk like a pirate day, so I can cross being clever off my list of things achieved, because I'm just thinking it isn't going to happen now!
For some unknown reason my DH calls me a pirate. I honestly do not know why. At the moment it has stuck along with many pirate related punchlines about walking the plank/plundering booty etc.
Now I couldn't really let him get away with that could I? Here is what I came up with -

The process was pretty straightforward. I stamped my map and colored it in and airbrushed the edges to make it look more pirate-y. The greeting I printed with a downloadable font and tore it and airbrushed it. The duck I played with some new to me Hammermill glossy paper. I don't know how I feel about the paper yet. I like how it didn't absorb the ink but there is definitely a learning curve if I continue to use it. It does, however, seem to make my copic brighter if that is possible.
